Happy New Year to all...
It must be a time of trial for many as there has not been much posting. Hope all are well. I miss the regulars. With all the politics and overall stuff going on right now on the planet, things on this plane are a bit of a downer.
It is a temporary experience and we need to stay in support of one another thru the hard times. By the way I am doing a whole lot better as far as the addictions. Dealing more with the psychic pain that I personally suffer with all sentient beings.
Can anyone share any practical ritual or practice that would help me in my journey of gnosis? I am so missing all my tribe gnostic friends.
I live in seattle so if there are any of you here lets consider getting together for fun and progress....
Blessings, Vita.

Re: Where is everybody?
Mon, January 9, 2006 - 8:14 PMHi Vita, Happy New Year to you as well. I am fairly new to this tribe, but I know I have been overly busy with mundane things and have not posted very much.
My favorite practice for Gnosis really, is sitting practice, which I learned in Shambhala training. Often times you can take sitting instruction through a buddhist center in your city for free, or a nominal donation.
The reason I really liked it was that it helped to really be "awake" and in the moment. It also helped me to realize my connectedness to all beings and the flow of energy through the world. Now, the beauty of this practice is that is relevant to everyone, wherever they are in their spiritual walk at this time. The caveate is, that it is the single hardest thing I have ever done, though one of the most rewarding.
Maybe we can spark some conversation amongst our fellow Gnostics here.
Good luck

Re: Where is everybody?
Tue, January 10, 2006 - 4:18 PMHi,
I'm new to this tribe... first post actually.
I personally find zen to be very satisfying in terms of daily living-- probably for reasons that Dian would agree with (or so it seems). If you look you will find references to being in the present moment scattered throughout sacred texts across the world.
In terms of ritual practice I tend to think in terms of Hermetics. Perhaps that is because I am a western person, I don't know.
Take Care,

Re: Where is everybody?
Tue, January 10, 2006 - 5:05 PMYes, my daily practice is grounded in zazen. I find this a very profound meditation practice that complements the Gnostic worldview quite well. Actually, zazen is very similar to contemplative prayer... a type of prayer that is rarely discussed these days. -

Re: Where is everybody?
Tue, January 10, 2006 - 8:44 PMI am actually not very familiar with Zen per se. I have read a bit on Taoism, which I like a lot and my buddhist practice is tibetian in nature. (I think my spelling is off tonight, so please forgive me) I find that the more I read about sacred paths from all cultures the more I find the similarities between them all. I guess this is from looking at them in a gnostic way, I am not sure. I think any practice that helps to quiet the mind and relaxes the body is a good one.
Hopefully we can get some more conversation going over here, because I don't think I can squeeze in any more sites.
Dian
