May of us feel a poweful desire for an actual historical Jesus. For a lot of Christians, a historical Jesus is required in order to find any truth, meaning or value in their religion.
So far it seems that most scholars, whether Christian or not, work within the model that Jesus was an actual historical person who is more or less accurately portrayed in the New Testament.
But not all scholars agree. www.thegodmovie.com
I haven't seen the DVD they are promoting at this site, but it looks interesting. I wonder if it contains any new questions about the historical validity of the New Testament? If anyone has seen it, I'd welcome your review.
Peace,
Griffin
